MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHERS
We are a husband and wife photography team, traveling all trough Europe to capture the most beautiful destination weddings. Youri is from the Netherlands, Avieta from Switzerland. As destination wedding photographers, we have worked all over the world, to tell the stories of our clients wedding. We have been featured in several publications, including WeddingChicks, Martha Stewart and Style Me Pretty.
With two photographers, we are able to tell your story from two different perspectives, styles and angles. We can be at two places at once and capture every moment, event, and reaction that takes place. Because we always work together, we always produce the same style of photos you fell in love with when you booked.
Our idea of wedding photography is not the usual formal style, but we want to capture every wedding exactly how it was; with all the laughter, love and everything in-between.Snapping a photo is easy, but directing a client and leading them confidently throughout their photoshoot is something entirely different. This is something we not only strive to do - we guarantee it with each and every client which is in front of our camera.
When we're not behind the camera, we enjoy spending time with our loved ones and traveling to new destinations. We are also fluent in 6 different languages, including English, Swiss, German, French, Dutch, Serbian, and we're working on improving our Spanish.
We cannot wait to get to know YOU better! Thanks for stopping by!
Choosing photography as a career was one of the smartest moves I've ever made. My journey as a photographer began in 2008 while I was pursuing a degree in the Netherlands and taking photography classes. Initially, I focused on fashion photography, but as I shot more weddings, I became captivated by the art of capturing real life stories through images.
My first weddings were a wake-up call. I thought that having a good camera was all it took, but I soon realized how much goes into shooting a wedding. It's not just about capturing moments, but also about finding the right composition, lighting, and waiting for the right moments to unfold. And most importantly, you can't afford to miss those once-in-a-lifetime moments. The look of joy on the couple's faces when they saw my images was a reward in itself and solidified my decision to focus on wedding photography.
Now, as a luxury destination wedding photographer, I strive to improve with every shoot and bring my clients' stories to life through my lens.
As a proud father of two amazing sons, I enjoy spending quality time with them, making them laugh and creating memories. My free time is spent with my wife, family, and friends, where a good glass of wine, soothing music, and warm sunshine bring a smile to my face. And in case you're wondering, a fresh slice of peanut butter bread never fails to start my day right.
Aside from my personal life, I am a wanderlust who loves to explore new destinations and meet new people. My preference lies with warm and sunny locations, but I also appreciate the tranquility and beauty of a winter wonderland in the mountains. When the temperature drops, there's nothing quite like heating up by the fireplace and enjoying its warmth.
Since 2018, my wife and I have been traveling the world as a destination wedding photographer team, capturing the most beautiful and meaningful moments for couples on their big day. Every day I wake up feeling grateful for this opportunity to do what I love and create memories that will last a lifetime.
My name is my life path. Avieta comes from the latin word avis and means bird. I love to fly high and boundless even if I land harder than I thought in the beginning. Life taught me to trust myself and my path also when everything looked impossible and not reachable. Struggle and a feeling to lose everything couldn’t stop me of being myself. I was driven by my passion to reach for the sky.
My life started in Zurich, Switzerland, where I was born. Having Serbian roots, family is the most important thing in life for me. Being a proud mother of two grown children reminds me how fast time flies and how beautiful the world through a child’s eyes is. We definitely need to remind ourselves more how we thought, acted and experienced the world when we were children.
I started my working career in 2004 at Google Switzerland in Zurich. As the first woman employed at the European Headquarters of Google, I implemented the people-first culture that thrives there today. In 2015 I convinced myself to get self-employed. As a Chief Happiness Officer (CHO) I advised companies on all aspects of “Happiness Culture”. My mission as a CHO was to implement customised initiatives to make people at work happier. Through training and workshops, I helped employees recognise their purpose and the great work they do. Building motivated and happy teams with strong bonds is the key to a thriving business.
I’m a passionate photographer, foodie, dancer and animal lover. In my free time I love to spend moments in the nature, on a farm or with my family and friends. I love to make people happy and give them a smile. My talent is my ability to connect with people and to motivate them to become happier and more content in their lives.
Through my husband, which I met on the beautiful island Ibiza, I recognised again how beautiful the art of photography is and how much I missed the creative aspect while working in a corporate world. I remembered the time when I was a school photographer, how I loved to capture the moments of a school event and how fascinating it was to develop the film role afterwards, staring at the white paper while the picture develops slowly. I knew, it was time for a big change… Since then I’m working together with my husband, travelling and capturing the most wonderful weddings around the world.
