Lake Lugano is a stunning lake that lies between the Alps and the Mediterranean. The lake is surrounded by charming towns and villages, each with its own character and history. The lake also offers a variety of activities for visitors, from boating and hiking to shopping and dining. The climate is mild and pleasant, making it ideal for outdoor weddings. The lovely bridal couple wanted pictures that showed the beauty of the day in combination with all the fun and laughter. They did not needed pictures of the getting ready or a photoshoot together. For them, celebrating their love with their friends and family, was the most important.
The couple I photographed chose Villa Heleneum as their wedding venue, and I can see why. Villa Heleneum is a gorgeous neoclassical villa that overlooks the lake and its park of exotic plants. The villa was built in 1931 and has maintained its original elegance and charm. The villa has a spacious terrace, a cozy salon and a refined dining room, all with panoramic views of the lake. The villa also has a small port, which allows guests to arrive by boat and enjoy the scenery from the water.
The wedding planning was done by Eventoile, a luxury wedding planner atelier that specializes in creating bespoke and unforgettable weddings. Eventoile has a reputation for excellence and creativity, and they delivered a flawless service for this wedding. They took care of every detail, from the flowers and the cake to the music and the lighting. They also handled the unexpected challenge of a sudden rain shower, which forced them to move the ceremony and the reception indoors. They did so with grace and efficiency, and the couple and the guests were delighted with the result.
The wedding day started with a ceremony at Chiesa Santa Maria del Sasso, a magnificent church that sits on a hill near Lugano. The church has a long and rich history, dating back to the 13th century. It was renovated in 1462 and its orientation was changed in 1758. The church is a stunning sight, both inside and outside. The bride looked radiant in her white dress, and the groom looked handsome in his suit. The ceremony was full of emotion and joy, and I could capture some of the most beautiful moments. After the ceremony, the guests were transported to the harbour, where they boarded a boat to Villa Heleneum. One of the perks of Villa Heleneum is that it can be accessed by the lake, which adds to the charm and the romance of the wedding. However, the weather had other plans, and it started to rain while the guests were on the boat. Luckily, the team of Eventoile was prepared for any situation, and they quickly moved everything that was set up outside to the inside of the villa. By the time the couple and their guests arrived, everything was ready and beautiful. The rest of the night was a celebration of love and happiness, with heartfelt speeches and a delicious dinner. The party continued with live music by Blunotte Events, a band that knows how to create a fun and festive atmosphere. Everyone was having a blast, dancing and enjoying the music.
