The Early Summer Ibiza Wedding of Lisa & Maxim
For Lisa and Maxim, both from East Flanders, Belgium, the idea of marrying in Ibiza was first borne from a suggestion made in jest by the groom’s mother, something that became a standing joke between the couple until Maxim’s proposal and their subsequent decision to travel to Ibiza in search of their perfect location.
For Lisa, it had always been her dream to marry on a beach after experiencing a beautiful wedding on a beach in Bali as a child. Surprisingly however, the beach locations failed to steal the couple’s hearts.
Instead they chose a rural wedding after being captivated into silence by the beauty of a secluded agricultural hotel. The romantically styled June wedding of the couple took place at Ca Na Xica, a stunning boutique hotel & spa, adorned with ancient olive trees, and nestled away in the tranquil Ibicencan countryside. The ceremony was held in an intimate copse, under the shade of the wonderful old pine trees and the bride looked exquisite in her gown. The couple were fortunate enough to be the first couple to marry in the copse, making the event even more special for all involved. Following the ceremony, the celebrations commenced with a drinks and canapé reception on the beautiful poolside terrace set to the sounds of a saxophonist.Later the guests were treated to a delicious 3 course meal seated at the romantically decorated tables, completed by the guests swinging their napkins – an entertaining Belgium wedding tradition! As the evening progressed, guests were entertained by singers, including an appearance by Belgium singer Silvy de Bie (of group Sylver), a surprise arranged for the couple by their mothers, DJ and even a contortion artist.
